This is a two-hour DVD going at a pace the amateur can follow showing how to use only hand tools such as: the axe, saw, maul, wedge, froe, hatchet, drawknife, spokeshave, plane, chisel, gouge and scraper which are are the tools of choice. No power tools are used. Alexander shows how to split and shape the greenwood into posts, rungs and slats. Using the shrinking and swelling characteristics of wood and interlocking rungs a chair is produced that will last generations. Finishing the wood is accomplished using only a scraper and wood shavings.
